Mir Taqi Mir Ghazal

 چلتے ہو تو چمن کو چلیے کہتے ہیں کہ بہاراں ہے

پات ہرے ہیں پھول کھلے ہیں کم کم باد و باراں ہے

رنگ ہوا سے یوں ٹپکے ہے جیسے شراب چواتے ہیں

عشق کے میداں داروں میں بھی مرنے کا ہے وصف بہت

آگے ہو مے خانے کے نکلو عہدِ بادہ گساراں ہے

یعنی مصیبت ایسی اٹھانا کارِ کار گزاراں ہے

کوہ کن و مجنوں کی خاطر دشت و کوہ میں ہم نہ گئے

دل ہے داغ جگر ہے ٹکڑے آنسو سارے خون ہوئے

لوہو پانی ایک کرے یہ عشقِ لالہ عذاراں ہے

عشق میں ہم کو میرؔ نہایت پاسِ عزت داراں ہے

chalte ho to chaman ko chaliye kahte haiñ ki bahārāñ hai

rañg havā se yuuñ Tapke hai jaise sharāb chuvāte haiñ

dil hai daaġh jigar hai TukḌe aañsū saare ḳhuun hue

aage ho mai-ḳhāne ke niklo ahd-e-bāda-gusārāñ hai

ishq ke maidāñ-dāroñ meñ bhī marne kā hai vasf bahut

ya.anī musībat aisī uThānā kār-e-kār-guzārāñ hai

lohū paanī ek kare ye ishq-e-lāla-azārāñ hai

पात हरे हैं फूल खिले हैं कम-कम बाद-ओ-बाराँ है

kohkan o majnūñ kī ḳhātir dasht-o-koh meñ ham na ga.e

ishq meñ ham ko 'mīr' nihāyat pās-e-izzat-dārāñ hai

मीर तक़ी मीर

चलते हो तो चमन को चलिए कहते हैं कि बहाराँ है

रंग हवा से यूँ टपके है जैसे शराब चुवाते हैं

कोहकन ओ मजनूँ की ख़ातिर दश्त-ओ-कोह में हम न गए

आगे हो मय-ख़ाने के निकलो अहद-ए-बादा-गुसाराँ है

इश्क़ के मैदाँ-दारों में भी मरने का है वस्फ़ बहुत

या'नी मुसीबत ऐसी उठाना कार-ए-कार-गुज़ाराँ है

दिल है दाग़ जिगर है टुकड़े आँसू सारे ख़ून हुए

लोहू पानी एक करे ये इश्क़-ए-लाला-अज़ाराँ है

इश्क़ में हम को 'मीर' निहायत पास-ए-इज़्ज़त-दाराँ है

"When you walk, the garden feels like it's spring,

Leaves are fresh, flowers have bloomed, gradually, there's a gentle breeze.

The colors, dripping from the air, appear as if they're testing wine.

Describing the field of love is quite challenging,

But ahead, the tavern is waiting, oh wine-bearer!

It means that facing such calamities is the way of life,

To drink iron and water together, this is the characteristic of love for tulips.

In love, we have the utmost honor and respect,

For us, Mir, there is closeness to dignitaries.
