Basic difference between ghazal and poem:

غزل کے ہر شعر کا مطلب مختلف ہوتا ہے۔ غزل اور نظم میں بنیادی فرق: غزل  کو موضوع بھلے ہی ایک ہو لیکن اس کےہر شعر مطلب مکمل ہوتا ہے جبکہ نظم  ایک ہی موضوع پر قائم ہوتی ہے۔ اور اسی اطراف گھومتی ہے۔

غزل کے پہلے شعر کو مطلع، دوسرے کو حسن مطلع اور ہر شعر میں قافیہ اور ردیف کا خا ص خیال رکھا جاتا ہے۔ غزل کے آخری شعر کو مقطع کہتے ہیں۔ اس میں عام طور پرشاعراپنا تخلص استعمال کرتا ہے۔

Basic difference between ghazal and poem:

Ghazal does not stick to a single theme. Rather, each verse of the ghazal is based on a different topic. Each verse has a complete meaning while the poem revolves around a single theme.

The first verse of the ghazal is called matla, the second verse is Husn-e-Matla, and special attention is paid to metre and word(s) repeated after rhyme

in each poem. The last verse of a ghazal is called Muqata. Usually the poet uses his pen name.
