یہ حال ہے کہ قدم ڈگمگائے جاتے ہیں

یہ ناز حسن تو دیکھو کہ دل کو تڑپا کر

نظر ملاتے نہیں مسکرائے جاتے ہیں

مرے جنون تمنا کا کچھ خیال نہیں

لجائے جاتے ہیں دامن چھڑائے جاتے ہیں

جو دل سے اٹھتے ہیں شعلے وہ رنگ بن بن کر

تمام منظر فطرت پہ چھائے جاتے ہیں

میں اپنی آہ کے صدقے کہ میری آہ میں بھی

تری نگاہ کے انداز پائے جاتے ہیں

رواں دواں لیے جاتی ہے آرزوئے وصال

کشاں کشاں ترے نزدیک آئے جاتے ہیں

کہاں منازل ہستی کہاں ہم اہل فنا

ابھی کچھ اور یہ تہمت اٹھائے جاتے ہیں

مری طلب بھی اسی کے کرم کا صدقہ ہے

قدم یہ اٹھتے نہیں ہیں اٹھائے جاتے ہیں

الٰہی ترک محبت بھی کیا محبت ہے

بھلاتے ہیں انہیں وہ یاد آئے جاتے ہیں

سنائے تھے لب نے سے کسی نے جو نغمے

لب جگرؔ سے مکرر سنائے جاتے ہیں

नियाज़ ओ नाज़ के झगड़े मिटाए जाते हैं
हम उन में और वो हम में समाए जाते हैं

शुरू-ए-राह-ए-मोहब्बत अरे मआ'ज़-अल्लाह

ये नाज़-ए-हुस्न तो देखो कि दिल को तड़पा कर
नज़र मिलाते नहीं मुस्कुराए जाते हैं

मिरे जुनून-ए-तमन्ना का कुछ ख़याल नहीं
लजाए जाते हैं दामन छुड़ाए जाते हैं

जो दिल से उठते हैं शो'ले वो रंग बन बन कर
तमाम मंज़र-ए-फ़ितरत पे छाए जाते हैं

मैं अपनी आह के सदक़े कि मेरी आह में भी
तिरी निगाह के अंदाज़ पाए जाते हैं

रवाँ दवाँ लिए जाती है आरज़ू-ए-विसाल
कशाँ कशाँ तिरे नज़दीक आए जाते हैं

कहाँ मनाज़़िल-ए-हस्ती कहाँ हम अहल-ए-फ़ना
अभी कुछ और ये तोहमत उठाए जाते हैं

मिरी तलब भी उसी के करम का सदक़ा है
क़दम ये उठते नहीं हैं उठाए जाते हैं

इलाही तर्क-ए-मोहब्बत भी क्या मोहब्बत है
भुलाते हैं उन्हें वो याद आए जाते हैं

सुनाए थे लब-ए-नय से किसी ने जो नग़्मे
लब-ए-'जिगर' से मुकर्रर सुनाए जाते हैं
