तुम्हारी याद के जब ज़ख़्म भरने लगते हैं
किसी बहाने तुम्हें याद करने लगते हैं
हदीस-ए-यार के उन्वान निखरने लगते हैं
तो हर हरीम में गेसू संवरने लगते हैं
हर अजनबी हमें महरम दिखाई देता है
जो अब भी तेरी गली से गुज़रने लगते हैं
सबा से करते हैं ग़ुरबत-नसीब ज़िक्र-ए-वतन
तो चश्म-ए-सुब्ह में आँसू उभरने लगते हैं
वो जब भी करते हैं इस नत्क़-ओ-लब की बख़िया-गरी
फ़ज़ा में और भी नग़्मे बिखरने लगते हैं
दर-ए-क़फ़स पे अंधेरे की मोहर लगती है
तो फ़ैज़ दिल में सितारे उतरने लगते हैं

I find some excuse to remember you
The topics of your hadith start to blossom
Then in every sanctuary, tresses start to adorn
Every stranger seems familiar to me
Who still pass through your street
We speak of the homeland with the breeze
Then tears rise in the eyes of the morning
Whenever they mend this tongue and lips
Even more songs spread in the air
When the seal of darkness is placed on the cage's door
Then stars begin to descend into Faiz's heart.
