वो दिल ही जानता है कुछ अ'ज़्मत हुसैन की

होने को तो शहीद हुए हैं बहुत मगर

तकमील-ए-शहादत है शहादत हुसैन की

छाई हुई हैं कुफ़्र की तारीकियाँ तमाम

दुनिया को आज फिर है ज़रूरत हुसैन की

मेहमाँ बुला के राज दुलारों को अपने घर

क्या ख़ूब कूफ़ियों ने की दा'वत हुसैन की

मातम करें तो किस का करें आज हम 'सईद'

जब ऐन-ए-ज़िंदगी है शहादत हुसैन की

The heart that holds the love of Hussain,

Only that heart knows the greatness of Hussain.

Many have been martyred throughout time,

But true martyrdom is the martyrdom of Hussain.

Darkness of disbelief has covered the world again,

Today, the world once more needs Hussain.

They invited the prince of paradise to their land,

What a tragic invitation the Kufans gave to Hussain.

Whose mourning should we perform today, O Saeed?

When the essence of life itself is the martyrdom of Hussain.
