Awaken the Oppressed: Allama Iqbal’s Revolutionary Poem "Wake Up the Poor of My World" 🌟🔥

allama iqbal poetry

Explore the powerful revolutionary verses of Allama Iqbal’s iconic poem "Utho Meri Duniya Ke Ghareebon Ko Jaga Do," calling for equality, justice, and the rise of the working class against oppression.

Arise, and awaken the poor of my world!

Shake the doors and walls of the palaces of the rich!

Warm the blood of slaves with the fire of conviction,

Make the humble sparrow fight the royal falcon!

The age of the rule of the masses is coming,

Erase every old landmark that you see!

From which field the farmer gets no livelihood,

Burn every single ear of wheat in that field!

Why should veils remain between Creator and creation?

Remove the priests of the church from the church!

Truth demands prostration, idols demand circumambulation,

Better extinguish the lamps of both the sanctuary and the temple!

I am displeased and weary of marble slabs,

Build for me a sanctuary made of plain earth instead!

Modern civilization is a glassmaker's workshop,
Teach the etiquette of madness to the Poet of the East!
