इतने खामोश भी रहा न करो

ग़म जुदाई में यूं क्या न करो

ख्वाब होते हैं देखने के लिए

उन में जा कर मगर रहा न करो

कुछ न होगा गिला भी करने से

ज़ालिमों से गिला क्या न करो

उन से निकलें हक़ाएतें शायद

हर्फ़ लिख कर मिटा दिया न करो

अपने रुतबे का कुछ लिहाज़ मुनीरؔ

यार सब को बना लिया न करो

Please don't stay so silent,
In the sorrow of separation, don't do this.

Dreams are meant to be seen,
But don't stay trapped in them.

Nothing will be achieved by complaining,
Don't complain about the oppressors.

These tales may have emerged from them,
But don't erase them by writing a word.

Consider your position, Munir,
Don't turn everyone into a friend.
