Like a picture of your beauty entering a ghazal,
As if Bilqis (Queen of Sheba) entered the palace of Solomon.
By coercion, the tastes of separation and union became one,
Now where will that sweetness come from in the fruit of patience?
It was also a demand of the ornamentation of existence that we
Stepped out from the circle of thought into the field of action.
At every step, virtue and vice are locked in a struggle here,
Into what arena of conflict and strife have we too arrived!
Life that used to find its radiance from their very thought—
Alas, what people they were who fell into the trap of death!
