aankhon mein raha
dil mein utar kar nahin dekha
kashtee ke
musaafir ne samundar nahin dekha
be-vaqt agar
jaoonga sab chaunk padenge
ik umr huee din
mein kabhee ghar nahin dekha
jis din se chala
hoon miree manzil pe nazar hai
aankhon ne kabhee
meel ka patthar nahin dekha
ye phool mujhe
koee viraasat mein mile hain
tum ne mira
kaanton bhara bistar nahin dekha
yaaron kee
mohabbat ka yaqeen kar liya main ne
phoolon mein
chhupaaya hua khanjar nahin dekha
mahaboob ka ghar
ho ki buzurgon kee zameenen
jo chhod diya
phir use mud kar nahin dekha
khat aisa likha
hai ki nageene se jade hain
vo haath ki jis
ne koee zevar nahin dekha
patthar mujhe
kahata hai mira chaahane vaala
main mom hoon us
ne mujhe chhoo kar nahin dekha
rough translation
The heart remained in the eyes, never experienced sinking into the heart,
The traveler of the boat never witnessed the expanse of the sea.
If I go untimely, everyone will be astonished,
In a lifetime of days, I have never seen home.
Since the day I set out for my destination, it's within sight,
These eyes have never seen a milestone's stone.
These flowers I've received as an inheritance,
You haven't seen a bed filled with thorns.
I have indeed believed in the love of friends,
Hidden knives within flowers, you haven't seen.
Whether it's the beloved's house or the elders' lands,
Having left, I never turned back to see.
The letter is written in a way connected to a jewel,
The hand that hasn't touched any jewelry.
The stone tells me that someone desires me,
I am wax, that hand has never touched me.
