Ali Sikandar (6 April 1890 – 9 September 1960), known by his nom de plume as Jigar Moradabadi, was an Indian Urdu poet and ghazal writer. He received the Sahitya Akademi Award Award in 1958 for his poetry collection "Atish-e-Gul", and was the second poet (after Mohammad Iqbal) to be awarded an honorary D.Litt. by the Aligarh Muslim University.
जान कर मिन-जुमला-ए-ख़सान-ए-मय-ख़ाना मुझे
मुद्दतों रोया करेंगे जाम ओ पैमाना मुझे
नंग-ए-मय-ख़ाना था मैं साक़ी ने ये क्या कर दिया
पीने वाले कह उठे या पीर-ए-मय-ख़ाना मुझे
सब्ज़ा ओ गुल मौज ओ दरिया अंजुम ओ ख़ुर्शीद ओ माह
इक तअल्लुक़ सब से है लेकिन रक़ीबाना मुझे
ज़िंदगी में आ गया जब कोई वक़्त-ए-इम्तिहाँ
उस ने देखा है 'जिगर' बे-इख़्तियाराना मुझे
Jaan kar min-jumla-e-ḳhasan-e-mai-ḳhana mujhe
muddaton roya karenge jaam o paimana mujhe
nang-e-mai-ḳhana tha main saaqi ne ye kya kar diya
piine vaale kah uThe ya pir-e-mai-ḳhana mujhe
sabza o gul mauj o dariyā anjum o ḳhurshid o maah
ik ta.alluq sab se hai lekin raqībāna mujhe
zindagi men aa gaya jab koi vaqt-e-imtihan
us ne dekha hai 'jigar' be-iḳhtiyarana mujhe
