Baaghabaan jin ke bichhad jaate hain

Aise gulshan to ujad jaate hain

Haddiyaan galti hain mehnat kash ki

Sabr ke phal bhi to sad jaate hain

Jaan dete hain jo bhi duniya par

Khooni rishton se woh lad jaate hain

Pheer lete hain jo apnon se aankh

Gham ke daldal mein woh pad jaate hain

Mukhtasar hoti hai rangon ki hayaat

Rang waise bhi bigad jaate hain

Chheen lete hain jo auron ki khushi

Gham ke sehra mein woh gad jaate hain

Farsh par thande neend udti hai

Noor sapne bhi sikud jaate hain

Those whose gardeners are separated from them,

Such gardens end up ruined and desolate.

The bones of a hardworking laborer waste away,

And even the fruits of patience turn rotten.

Those who devote their lives to worldly desires,

End up fighting against their own blood relations.

Those who turn their eyes away from their loved ones,

Sink deep into the quagmire of grief.

The life of colors is brief and short-lived,

And colors fade or spoil anyway.

Those who snatch away the happiness of others,

Get buried in the desert of sorrow.

Sleep vanishes when lying on a cold floor,

O Noor, even dreams shrink and wither away.

Maikade Band Hu'ai, Dhoond Raha Hoon Tujh Ko! | Qateel Shifai

A profound journey into solitude and love through the evergreen voice of Urdu poetry.

Qateel Shifai Ghazal

The Messenger Making the winds your messenger is a path to broken dreams, You cannot draw the moon's image on shifting sands. The Search The taverns have closed and now I wander in search of you, Where are you, the one who quenched my thirst with your eyes? The Painter I wish the artists painting your portrait had borrowed my sight, For only my eyes know the true beauty they seek to capture. The Beloved You look even more beautiful in this graceful indifference, Turning your face away while singing the verses I wrote for you. The Rain They all wore garments of paper with such great pride, Yet they were the same ones who went out to bathe in the rain. The City How careless are those building this new city's foundation, They are trying to place a roof upon walls made of sand. The Justice Do not give me hope for justice in a land like this, Where they murder the very hands that shake the chains of truth. The Resolve Who will possess the strength of self-respect once I am gone? Let those who send me to the gallows reflect on that loss. The Tombstone When I am gone, let my epitaph tell the final story: "He fell into a deep sleep after waking the entire world." The Farewell Sorrow rains down upon the walls of this empty house, Qateel, God knows where they have gone—those who truly knew how to love.

Love Hidden in Sadness – A Deeply Emotional Shayari

Urdu Poet Shahryar Ghazal

Urdu Poet Shahryar Ghazal

 Shahryar Ghazal
Shahryar Ghazal

No one appears as beautiful as you in sight
Neither do I believe in myself anymore
Your thought is as cruel as you are
Wherever one wishes to come, you never appear
What's going to happen, what should one worry about now?
Even what has happened, I don't have faith in it
This is my heart, that crushes the view of the deserted town
All doors are open, yet no one arrives
If separation is destined, then part ways on this path
For there's no turning back on this journey
Shahryar

This ghazal by Shahryar explores themes of longing, disillusionment, and acceptance of fate. The poet reflects on the elusive nature of love and the uncertainty of life's path. He expresses the idea that despite one's desires and expectations, reality may not align with one's hopes. The imagery of a deserted town and open doors symbolizes the emptiness and unpredictability of existence. Ultimately, the poet resigns himself to the inevitability of separation and the unknown future that lies ahead.

Hope brought less than what was expected,
We, the people, arrived a little late to the market.

Truth, even they themselves don't speak,
Oh people of madness, you arrived here in vain.

This fire is the spark of desire, it will consume it too,
Tell the sun that the shade has arrived in the wall.

Our loneliness keeps increasing as we walk,
What thought made us come to the valley of denial?
Sharyar

This poetry reflects on the disillusionment and disappointment in life's outcomes. It suggests that despite high hopes, reality often falls short. The poet questions the authenticity of truth and observes the futility in human endeavours. There's a metaphorical portrayal of desire as a destructive force and a sense of despair in facing the inevitability of loneliness. The poem ends with a rhetorical question pondering the reasons behind human denial of harsh realities.
